We love the idea that well-made pieces with good craftsmanship and oodles of history can live on. Living different stories, in different homes and enjoyed by different people.
Due to our background in antique furniture restoration and years of experience working for industry-leading dealers and designers we offer a complete re-upholstery service for both traditional and modern pieces.
Our team of classically trained and highly experienced Master Craftsmen pride themselves on our attention to detail and authenticity to the piece. Every single re-upholstery project is carried out with the utmost care and consideration. Most importantly, we try to be faithful to the original construction.
Furniture Reupholstery Services
We work on both traditionally upholstered furniture (coil springs, horse hair, stuff and stitch, sprung-front edges etc.) and contemporary, modern alternatives. From French polishing to wood-work and frame repairs, we each have a specialist set of skills.
Firstly, we will guide the customer through the process of deciding what fabric (colour/style etc.) to use and how to finish the piece. Furthermore, we can source or create almost any fabric from worldwide fabric suppliers and can therefore offer an extensive range. In summary, there is no limit to what we can do for you.
Uncovering the history of a piece is fascinating and feeds our passion for what we do. Let us transform cherished heirlooms or classic designs to give them a new lease of life for generations to come.
Why Choose Us?
We have a rich history of dealing only in high quality, bespoke furniture. Whether it be creating furniture from scratch or repairing an old item and bringing it back to life, we are meticulous and demand the very best craftsmanship from our team.
Not only that, we put you at the heart of what we do. Collaboration is one of our key values and we always strive to embed you into the whole process. This means getting a clear picture of what you want and working alongside you to make that happen. After all, this is your furniture, and it should look exactly how you want it to.
Experience, commitment, dedication – we have it all and more. You can be assured that we only employ the very best people and have extremely high standards of ourselves. We don’t see your furniture reupholstery and repair needs as work, we see it as a passion project.
How It Works
The first step is for you to get in touch with us, as we can’t do anything until you’ve made the first move! Once you’ve done this, we’ll arrange a meeting or call to discuss your specific needs. We will ask questions to establish exactly what it is you want. Sometimes this involves a home visit, so we can really see and picture where the furniture will live.
Once we’ve figured out what it is you need, we’ll get to work on the design. This is where we’ll bring you in on the process, too, and is why we take so much care to get to know you, and your furniture, as part of the first step. We will ensure that what we design and plan meets your needs, exactly, and our experienced designers will put the vision on paper, ready for the craftsmen to bring it to life.
After this, the most exciting stage begins. We’ll ask said craftsmen, all of whom are masters in this area of work, to start on the reupholstery project. From our workshops in Kent, they will work on your furniture with their own hands, ensuring attention is paid to every minor detail. Our view, as you may have guessed, is that these minor details add up to major details – so every one matters.
Once the work is done, we’ll then hand deliver to your home and spend time with you to make sure that you are happy with the final product.
Why Reupholster
There are many benefits to the modern world we now live in. However, we believe there is one drawback. The ‘throwaway’ society we are now part of means that so many old, historic and antique pieces of furniture are thrown in landfills every week.
This, in our view, is a travesty. Old furniture not only has character but has stories to tell, links with family and – in some cases – can be a piece of history itself. Rather than throwing away and buying new, reupholstering allows you to give old furniture a new lease of life for years to come, whilst still maintaining the history that makes it so special.
This isn’t the only reason you should reupholster, though. There are a number of practical and environmental reasons that we should all consider giving furniture a new lease of life. Not least to save money, in a world where the cost of living continues to rise. Having a piece reupholstered can be considerably cheaper than getting something brand new, so it makes complete sense.
It’s also more environmentally friendly to reupholster, too. Reduce, reuse and recycle. Reupholstering covers all of these three things and helps reduce the amount of furniture being thrown away into landfill sites and recycling centres. There really are benefits all round.
